[ar'lã], Marcel, französischer Schriftsteller, * Varennes-sur-Amance (Département Haute-Marne) 5. 7. 1899, ✝ Paris 12. 1. 1986; verfasste psychologische Romane und Novellen. Sein erster großer Erfolg war der Roman »L'ordre« (1929; deutsch »Heilige Ordnung«), für den er den Prix Goncourt erhielt. Er war 1952-78 Chefredakteur der Nouvelle Revue Française.
